You already had your honeymoon in HK! & other scary visa interview stories

Filed under: Uncategorized — conceivingdreams @ 7:50 pm

My heart wasn’t really into this trip..NOT!  Seriously, I didn’t want to apply ’cause I’ve heard a lot of people who got denied a US visa.
But why not try it, right? Worry about the expenses later. Besides they have a heart for honeymooners. So they say.

Story 1: A very rich local neighbor in the area. Has lots of properties. Denied. Never got approved (as of this writing).
Story 2: Daughter of a popular restaurant chain owner. Denied.
Story 3: Will attend a family reunion. All expenses paid. Forgot her TIN. Denied.
Story 4: Mother & young son. Son got approved. Mother got denied. Mother made a scene in the embassy.
Story 5: Mother & daughter wants to go to Disneyland. Consul said, Is this a ticket booth? Denied.
Story 6: Willie Revillame. Denied.
Story 7: A woman with a big case of documents/support papers, fumbling through them. Consul said, No more. Denied.
Story 8: You were given a 10 year visa before. Give others a chance. Denied.
Story 9: My dream is to go to New York. Approved.
Story 10: Company sponsored conference. Approved.
Story 11: Why will I not come back? In here, I have 2 maids who wait on me. A yaya, a driver, etc..Approved.
Story 12: So you work for Microsoft? Do you have stocks? Approved.
Story 13: (Seaman) So you’re a bartender, you make people happy. Approved.
Story 14: Oh! you have so many books? When did you start writing? In 2002, when your embassy denied me. Consul laughs out loud. Approved.
Story 15: We just got married & we’re on our honeymoon. Approved. 10 years validity.
Story 16: (Looking at passports) Were you in HK together? Yes. Then you already had your honeymoon in HK! Yes, but were still trying to have a baby. In New York? Nah..nah..We’re hoping the climate will help. Approved.

Visa2# 16 is our story. Truly, it’s a perpetual honeymoon LOL. This is what a US visa looks like and that’s me with the flipped hair (on one side only, harhar-we’ll mIkke says maganda naman daw, haha He loves me! :) :) )
So feast your eyes (or save them from pain, whichever works for you, LOL). As what Borat would have said, Ni————ce :) LOL

*But just to clarify, the story was just meant to amuse you guys. Mikke will attend an International Convention for Seventeen magazine. Seventeen is a popular American publication & Mikke is company sponsored + his editor was interviewed and approved in the same window/consul just before us. So who knows, if that part had anything to do with it?! Or any of the instances I mentioned there. It could be a whole lot of factors. Disclaimer, haha.

*This is not the end of my NY Dream. Still have to get through the entry port immigration. We’ve been told, they still have the power to send you back! Will this ever end?? Scary story, as I said.

I’m stuck at Alba, An Introduction

* * * * * * * *The Time Traveler’s Wife SPOILER ALERT * * * * * * * * * *

To start with, this is a really good book (author Audrey Niffenegger). Henry, a chrono-impaired  librarian cannot keep himself in the present and time travels without control or any logical pattern. He vanishes leaving his piles of clothes to end up somewhere in time naked and hungry.  During his travels, he meets his wife Clare, who was only 6 years old at that time.

It’s a page-turner, but yah, I got stuck at this chapter. Caught the baby blues i guess!

See, when the time traveller & his wife decided to have a baby, they failed. Was it six times?.. i forget.. Anyways, the baby in the womb kept dying due to faulty genes from the dad. They were doing their best to work with doctors, geneticists, even using drug cocktails from the future but all failed, and at one point Henry gave up already. During these chapters, I could relate to the max. Somehow. Mostly, during the baby please come soon moments Clare was having.

And so, Henry from the future comes to visit Clare & assures her that in their future, they do have a child. Meanwhile real-time Henry was in a clinic about to get a vasectomy! ..I won’t explain anymore how but Clare did get pregnant & that’s when I stopped reading.

SAGITTARIUS
If you’re not already pregnant, you’ll probably be very soon. You’ll also be glowing with good health in spite of the bump.

The cover of the magazine, by some weird happenstance is Dawn Zulueta (ok, not that weird-it’s just me.) who’s struggle for pregnancy lasted for 6 years.

The other female in my man’s life

Filed under: Uncategorized — conceivingdreams @ 5:21 am

Img_6319It must be that Mischa’s approaching her season. The Complete Pet Owner’s Manual on Shih Tzus says so. ..the best time to breed a female is from 9-14 days after the first signs of color. In most cases, the highest chance of conception occurs on the twelfth day.. With that my husband can only sigh and say: Magbibilang na naman! And for which I can only respond (only in my head): Baka maunahan pa ako nyan!

What Dreaming of Being Pregnant Means

Filed under: Uncategorized — conceivingdreams @ 4:19 am

Dream interpretations had been a fond interest of mine and what better to post here & interpret than dreams of being pregnant, giving birth, and generally babies in one’s dreams.

Preg
Pregnancy

A new area of one’s potential or personality developing; a deepening relationship with one’s unconscious is producing a new area of experience–still unexpressed, but developing.
In a woman’s dream: may refer to a desire for a child.
If pregnant at the time of the dream: anxieties, feelings of intuition regarding pregnancy and birth.
Someone else pregnant in dream: an aspect of one’s self about to bring forth new characteristics; and intuition about that person.

Birth2
Birth

General: When we are born, one world experience ended for us and another began. Birth in a dream has the same meaning. The beginning of a new way of life; new attitude; new ability; new project. But also the death of the old. Can be about our own physical birth, its difficulties and traumas. But most difficult being birth dreams are about coming to terms with our existence. Many of us are still wondering whether we wanted to be, or want to be born. Lots of us live at a remove from life because of this.
Woman’s dreams: desire to have a baby.
Man’s dream: envy of the creative ability of women.
Birth of a shining, talking of holy child: the beginning of awareness (not intellectual knowledge) of how the conscious self is interwoven with the forces of beings of the cosmos.
Birth pains: the creative process; pain of arriving at a wider vision. Giving birth to a more mature self is a struggle; the new in our life is born out of such pains.

Baby
Baby

General: One’s own feelings and urges at the level of development–such as possessiveness, joy, curiosity, innocent love, infant trauma; feelings of helplessness; vulnerability; lack of responsibility; being cared for. Also a new phase of life; a new idea; new activity.
When with a couple: the marriage–what is created in a relationship; the life process in us. Based on reproduction.
In a woman’s dream: desire for a baby; worries about having a healthy baby.
In a man’s dream: desire for parenthood; weight of responsibility; fear of inability to produce.
In a child’s dream: themselves at the age; feelings about a baby sibling.

Reel life baby blues

Charlotte_1

Charlotte and Harry in Sex and the City. These puppies are the product of Chalotte’s dog getting "raped" in the park. "Everybody’s getting pregnant except me!" nga daw. Naunahan pa siya ng dog nya.In the finale, we see them walking the puppies after of course learning that a baby will come in na from China. "God remembered our address" sabi ni Harry.

Monica_1

Monica and Chandler in FRIENDS. Chandler’s low sperm motility and Monica’s inhospitable environment like uterus caused difficulty in this couple’s conception. This was the news that broke out after several so funny "I’m ovulating! I’m ovulating!" episodes. Of course, we’ll never get to see what happened to their adopted twins, ’cause they only made an appearance in the last episode.

Gabrielle

Gabrielle and Carlos in Desperate Housewives. Only goes to show that when you don’t want it, you get it. When you want it, you lose it. When you decide to adopt, you have to "audition." So funny, in a dark way of course.

Meet  our baby! 8 wk old Shih Tzu Pup Mischa!
She’s so pretty, you’ll just want to cuddle her.

Here’s the Shih Tzu Credo for owners, haha!

Shih Tzu: your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are her life, her love, her leader.
Shih Tzu will be yours, faithful and true,
to the last beat of her heart.
You owe it to her to be worthy of such devotion.

stuck in the moment

Filed under: Uncategorized — conceivingdreams @ 11:26 pm

There is always that point in that time of the month that you have that single bit of hope that its finally gonna be. (ok that’s 5 thats..make that six!) You begin to have daydreams about torturing your husband about fantastic cravings, malling but walking very slowly in flats of course, getting bigger with no guilt, shopping for baby stuff, the list goes on… and thats only during the pregnancy! …and then you get the negative test strip…Oh no… and oh yes, it can drive anyone insane. Oh well, I have my man to torture, so whose complaining? (ok that’s 3 ohs)
